I had a Ka for a while - absolutely fine with the seat down for a weim, a deerhound and a welshie for nipping around normally. The only thing to check if leaving a dog in for any time is that the electrics are safe .... some wires were not well hidden and I nearly had no rear lights once  .

I'm sure they have improved since I drove one. One of the agility clubs I went to with Rossi, there was a lady with a male GSD who had a Smartcar! The back door didn't seem to open fully and only the bottom half opened up, so the dog had to crawl underneath and up into the boot.

Sonia, can we see your new car? You haven't told us what it is!
There was a woman parked next to me this morning who had the same car, same colour but hers was the SRi version with twin exhausts. I hate to think how much petrol that gets through, mine isn't exactly economical, although better than the Audi we had (still miss that :( ).

Collected the new car yesterday, I love it /love/ /love/ /love/ /love/

Here are a few pics of the girls in the back, there's loads of room, they can sit and stand with plenty of room. At the moment the hidden shelf at the bottom is still in place, that can be taken out and it gives about another 6 inches more height, going to take it out tomorrow when we go on holiday

 Looks great - I had looked at X Trail before and thought the boot was small, yours is massive!

 That's great and so much more room in the boot than the older ones. How old is it?

It is only just 2 years old and pretty low mileage. The new model came in at end 2007 so some of the 57 plates are the new model, yet I saw a few 2008s which were the older model, most 2008 were the new one though

No pics yet, but Misty is slowly getting used to the little green, mean machine, harness clipping on has been a challenge when wrestling with a 5 stone dog in this weather when going for a walk but we are getting there !

Getting back is easier because all she wants to do is lay flat out on the back seat.

Once or twice I have put her on the front seat and she then thinks she is the bees knees !
