Hi and welcome from me and my gang. No Weis now, but we have the 3 Brittanys to keep us busy.

It's hard having 4 at the same time - we had Max, Sula, Nyssa and Ricky together - but it can be very rewarding.

RIP Toby, Bliss, Barney, Ricky, Nyssa, Sula and Max - who started it all

Hi and welcome to the forum from me and my 8 year old blue Weimaraner, Silverbells.

It sounds like Buzz is a real handful, but he's also made a lot of progress in the past two years with you. It's hard to untrain seven years of behaviour.

Silver suffers from SA when we go out, and rather than looking for an all-out cure (which would be ideal but too time-intensive for us to pursue), we have settled for management. She loves her crate and goes in happily when we go out. I originally did this to make sure that she would be safe on her own, not to mention the safety of our house! Over time, though, and not a particularly long period of time, she really started to love the crate and now it's a sort of safe haven for her. Sometimes she's goes in there when we are at home, when she's had enough.

Do you crate your dogs at all? If not, it may be something to consider for Buzz.

It seems to be a bit more than SA reading your long post Lucy - that's what it appears to me anyway. He sounds quite a mixed up chap - I think my advice would be to see a very experienced behaviourist. Not somebody who has jumped on the bandwagon as unfortunately seems to be the case these days ;)

He has come so far with you and you've worked wonders - some outisde eyes may well be the key to sorting him out fully ;)

The fact that there are several issues probably makes it difficult to come up with a single plan to deal with this, but I'm sure a good behaviourist will help loads. Best wishes. I'm sure it will be worth it all in the end. It sounds like you've done a lot with him already and he has made some progress. Poor fella, to be left alone so long--no wonder he craves attention. Hopefully he will eventually satisfy this with the other dogs to some extent, but likely it will always be from humans that he expects it.

Thanks guys and yes you're right there's alot more than the SA mixed up with him... and as much as I love him to bits, he does create alot of his own problems... we're going to try the crate 1st and see if we can get him settled in his own space rather than jumping on the doggy sofa with everyone else, he loves music and we do leave the tv or radio on if they're in the house and we're out.... we wont be separating him from the other 3 though as that may make him worse... he only settles when he's either laid at my feet or on the sofa next to us....
He loves the others to groom him but favours human touch everytime given the option. Will start looking for someone who deals with this breed on the behaviourist side like the comments earlier there's too many pretending to know what they're doing!!!

Just working out how to upload piccies of the gang.....
