Wow thanks for all the replys, sorry i havent managed to get on for the last couple of days!

She is up to date worming, she went to the vets 2 weeks ago. I did mention about her weight but he said she was fine.... I wasn't convinced as he didn't pay much attention to her. One person mentioned about her hip bones, yes, you can see them...sometimes worse than others.

I didn't realise about mixing kibble and raw...oppps....i'll stop that now!! And I did phone burns and they said to put some of the high energy lamb feed in her diet....which i did. Can anyone recommend a good food, i've been looking at arden grange as everyone seems to recommend it.

Also I meant to mention, she is extremely greedy, I know all dogs are a bit but she is the worst I have ever meet! She completely fixates on food, picnic, your dinner, anything.....if she knows it is there she will do everything she can to get it and never forgets about it. I can make her dinner the night before and put it in the oven for safe keeping and she is there, drooling next to it first thing in the morning....it's good if I cant remember where I put it though...she sure remembers...lol. Someone told me she may be like this because she is always hungry...could this be true?

Thanks

Did you get your worming tablets from the vet or a pet shop? I believe the vet ones are better.
I also have a greedy bitch :rwl: she constantly wants food, never gets it though :rwl:
I can't recommend a dried food, as I feed Nature Diet. Which is a natural wet food.

She sounds like a clone of my Ellie, she is food obsessed, can open fridges and cupboards, will unzip a rucksack and chew the clips off a plastic sandwich box to get the crumbs or apple core she can smell.

She was born greedy, when she was with her litter, she had to be removed from the food because she's finished her portion before the other puppies had even found the dishes. She'll be 11 next month and is still very slim and very greedy.

Mine are fed on Challenge Salmon and Potato

Hi there,

I have a Cocker and a Weim and they both really struggled to keep condition on Burns.. They both lost too much weight their coats became dull and both ended up with scurf (doggy dandruff). My only thoughts might be that if you're feeding a high energy kibble it could end up causing her to burn up more energy???

My Weim has some allergy issues too and I ended up with both of them on Chappie and they look brilliant on it, but I'm currently trying to find something else that's a bit better quality that suits them (Arden Grange makes the Weim a bit hyper  ), we've trialed this one and I'm going to try swapping them onto it over the next few weeks:

Good luck!

 I'm going to disagree that AG make the weim hyper ;) Perhaps your weim is hyper on it but it's a bit of a generalisation to say it makes 'the weim' hyper :rwl:

Callie is definitely not a hyper dog and she is fed AG lamb & rice along with Nature diet. Della is more energetic now she has AG Prestige and I will keep her on it whilst she is training so much and competing, she was less energetic on the L&R or it could eb a coincidence that she came back into work like a bit of a loon :D

Perhaps you need to stick to raw or a combination of dry and wet Chloe and not mix her diet so much?

  Sorry, badly written... Of course I didn't mean 'The Weim' as in all Weims.... AG makes MY 'slightly prone to being highly strung' Weim hyper... I'm sure loads of other Weims are fine on it. 8) 8)

I did feed her natures diet before. She used to get burns twice a day and then natures diet in the evening. Do you feed them just natures diet or a mix with dry? and how much of each would you feed a day?

Della only gets one tray of ND as an evening meal with a tiny handful of Arden Grange kibble - she is very active and is frequently out training for whole days at a time. She has a kibble only breakfast of I'd guess, 150g or so. I could weigh it if you like.

Your girl sounds like my first weim Ava, she 'lived' on nervous energy and was a pacer, she didn't learn to relax until she was about two and a half. She was always underweight as a youngster, I have a photo somewhere which I'll scan in and post.

I too always struggled to maintain weight on Burns.

Chloe look up the posts by Cressy on Brice she's been feeding a premade (or minced) barf food and it does seem to have helped him might be worth a try.

I have just spoken to the pet shop and they have agreed to take back one of the unopened bags of burns (I think I have bout 30kg + out the back which would take forever to get through) and exchange it for arden grange. Can anyone recommend one type rather than others? lamb, salmon etc?

Thanks
